His work around the globe often comes to it's completion at his own state-of-the-art studio, The Cave, in Malibu, CA, where records and audio are mixed in stereo and surround sound, and video is edited, color corrected and rendered.
He lives in California with his wife and three young kids.
Kevin "Caveman" Shirley
Kevin Shirley has been involved in music for most of his life.
He started with classical piano lessons as a child in Johannesburg, sang with the St. Andrews School choir in Bloemfontein, played french horn and then became conductor of the junior symphony orchestra before discovering Rock music and the guitar.
After studying Music Composition at the University of Cape Town under Peter Klatzow, Kevin began a career as an audio engineer at the South African Broadcasting Corporation, where he rose through the ranks quickly to monopolize the packaging of music programs. He continued this career path with a move to top producer Tully McCully's Spaced Out Sound Studios where he produced his first album at the age of 22, and garnered the nickname "Caveman".
